Webbers Falls Board of Education is proud to announce that Mike Mills was hired at the December 9th regular monthly meeting to replace retiring superintendent, Chris Whelan. Mr. Mills is a 1989 graduate of Keota High School where he was a member of the 1989 state tournament basketball team. He began his career in education as a teacher and coach at Hilldale Public Schools. While an assistant coach at Hilldale, Mr. Mills was instrumental in helping Hilldale win a State Championship in baseball and softball. After leaving Hilldale, he spent time at Wagoner Public Schools as a teacher, coach and Alternative Education Director. Mr. Mills was High School principal at McCurtain Public Schools for two years before taking over the HS principals position here in Webbers Falls.
Mr. Mills and his wife, Rebecca, have two grown children, Casady and Drew, and one granddaughter, Audrey. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time working in the farm, and cheering for the Oklahoma Sooners! Mr. Mills has a deep love for Webbers Falls school and community. He is excited to serve in this new capacity beginning on July 1, 2025. Webbers Falls Public Schools is rich in tradition and Mr. Mills looks forward to continuing that tradition.
